SEN Teaching Assistants needed for KS1 and KS2

About the role

Hollybush Primary School is a truly inclusive school. We welcome children of all abilities and backgrounds regardless of how much additional support they need to access everything we have to offer. 

All our children, many of whom have complex needs, make good progress and thrive in our therapeutic, enabling environment. We have an excellent reputation locally and receive lots of requests from parents of children with additional needs to attend Hollybush. 

We are looking for an individual to work within key stage 2 and also someone to work within KS1.

The applicants will have the following skills:

  • An understanding of neurodiversities including autism, ADHD, dyspraxia and dyslexia along with knowledge of how to support neurodiverse children in the classroom.
  • Understands behaviour as a form of communication
  • Works well as part of a team and enjoys collaborative problem solving and sharing responsibility for getting things done;
  • Resilient and an advocate for our children in challenging situations 
  • An understanding of trauma and attachment and the impact of these on a child's development

Our staff are highly trained due to the links we have with many outreach services. We have our own Makaton tutor on site as well as a speech and language therapist who comes in weekly and also delivers training to our staff. We would ensure you also have all the training you need to support the child/ren you are working with.
