About the role
It is an exciting time at Holtsmere End Infant and Nursery School
As an highly inclusive school we are always looking for ways to best support our SEN children with EHCPs and specifically those who are awaiting places at Specialist provision.
We hold the Inclusion Quality Mark and are considered a Centre of Excellence.
We pride ourselves on being forward thinking, proactive and striving to provide the best for all our children. In the Summer term we will be appointing an SEN teacher to lead a team of two FTE learning support assistants to work with a group of up to 6 children with a variety of needs including Autism, ADHD and Global Developmental Disorder. We already have a dedicated space, ‘Blossom room’ and we are receiving advice and support from the SEN team on how best to set up a learning space.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a SEN support Assistant within this learning space. (We have two FTE vacancies available).
We have an experienced SENCO and Senior Leadership Team who will support and collaborate with the SEN teacher and their team. The Blossom classroom team will also work closely with class teachers and children will spend time with their peers in their mainstream classroom/outdoor area when appropriate.
You MUST have some expereince of working with children with SEN, ideally in specialist provision or you may have extensive experience of working with children with additional needs in a mainstream school and are keen to have the opportunity to focus on the learning needs of a small group of children within our Blossom classroom.
If you are as excited as we are by this opportunity and the prospect of being part of this provision in our inclusive and nurturing school and would like to find out more, please contact us on 01442 211963 to make an appointment to meet with our SENCO and Headteacher prior to applying for the role. We would love to show you around our school.

We expect all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment and the above post will be subject to enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory references.
