Term time plus one week (INSET days)

FTE Salary H5 Point 9 £27,422 including the London Fringe Allowance
Actual Salary £21,395 including the London Fringe Allowance
We are seeking to appoint a Science technician to support twelve specialist scientists. The role involves working as part of a team of four technicians to support teaching and learning by the management of the laboratory and the setting up of equipment and resources for daily teaching/examination practicals. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work as part of a team but also independently, have good attention to detail and be able to communicate effectively with staff and pupils. The successful applicant will also have a good knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and be experienced in the preparation of equipment for use in science lessons.
The school has been graded outstanding by Ofsted. The school was inspected by Ofsted in the June of 2024 and found to be ‘Outstanding’ in every category. The inspectors described the school as a “highly happy and purposeful place to be” and that “pupils treat each other with the utmost tolerance and respect”. They also referred to the “exceptional work” pupils produce and the “wealth of wider opportunities that promote personal development.”
In accordance with the school’s admissions criteria, children of staff at the school are eligible to be allocated a place under this criterion where the member of staff is recruited under a contract of employment to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
