About the role
We have a vacancy for a co-opted governor to join our Governing Board. We are an active and engaged governing body – a team of volunteers who makes a vital contribution to the success of the school. It is our vision and aim to create a learning experience in which every child will achieve and realise their full potential. Green Lanes Primary School is a school community where there is a strong partnership between the Governors, Headteacher, staff, parents and pupils.

Green Lanes Primary School is a happy, thriving and successful two form primary school based in Hatfield Garden Village, with a highly dedicated and motivated staff team. Our governing body work closely with the senior leadership team to support and challenge, aiming to maximise opportunities for our pupils and help every one of them get the most out of their school life.
Previous experience is not necessary and training will be given. There are 7 meetings throughout the acadmic year which are held face to face at the school (usually on a Tuesday evening starting at 6pm).
We are looking for someone who has:
- a passion to support every child / young person to achieve in education- committed to ensuring pupil have access to a positive and safe school environment
- people skills and the ability to work well as part of a team- as the role requires regular engagement at governors' meetings and undertaking school visits with school staff and pupils.
- an open and honest outlook, with the ability to remain objective in order to come to balanced decisions.
- Specialist skills would be beneficial to the role but not essential.

Full training and support will be provided therefore no previous knowledge of how an educational setting is organised is required.
