About the role

Make a Difference in Your Community by Becoming a School Governor!

We currently have a vacancy for a School Governor (voluntary position) and welcome interest from members of the community who are keen to make a positive contribution to the educational experience of our pupils and support the leadership team in shaping the future of our school.

About the School Governor Role

Operating a successful school that delivers quality education and exciting opportunities within a safe, enjoyable and inclusive environment does not happen without the support of many different individuals and groups of people. One of those important groups is our Governing Board.

Governors play a vital role in the school’s strategic direction, ensuring accountability and continuous improvements throughout the school year that directly impact outcomes for our pupils. The core functions of the Governing Board are:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
  • Holding leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff;
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure money is well spent.
