About the role

Are you passionate about education and keen to make a difference in your local community? Park Street Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our Governing Body as a School Governor.

As a governor, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our school, supporting its development, and ensuring the best possible outcomes for all children. No prior experience in education is necessary—just a desire to contribute and a willingness to learn!

Governors play a vital role in the school’s strategic direction, ensuring accountability and continuous improvements throughout the school year that directly impact outcomes for our pupils.

The core functions of the Governing Board are:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
  • Holding leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff;
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure money is well spent.

What we’re looking for:

  • A commitment to improving educational outcomes
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • A willingness to engage in training and attend meetings (usually 6 per year)

Becoming a governor is a rewarding way to give back to the community and help shape the future of young minds.
