About the role
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Governor to join our team at Trotts Hill Primary School.
Trotts Hill School is a highly successful one form entry primary school in Stevenage with highly dedicated and motivated team of staff. Governors at the school work closely with the senior leadership team to support and challenge, aiming to maximise opportunities for all our pupils to learn, thrive and get the most out of school life. Trotts Hill is a welcoming school with wonderful children and a supportive community. Trotts Hill a Platinum OPAL (outdoor play and learning) school and is in the top 1% of the country for our play offer and our outcomes in Reading, Writing and Maths in 2023. What are we looking for?
We currently have two vacancies for new co-opted governors and would be delighted to hear from anyone who generally has:
- an interest in being part of a successful school
- an open and enquiring mind, with the confidence to ask questions and join in debate
- the ability to work well with others
- time to spare
Becoming a school governor is a rewarding experience and will allow you to use your skills to have a positive impact on the education of the children in the school. You may take on different challenges as you work as part of a well-established Governing Board.
We would welcome applications from any background if you are prepared to take on the commitment of the role but are particularly interested in applications from those with one of the following backgrounds:
? insight and experience of teaching and learning
? professional skills and experience within education
? expertise in HR or finance
Meetings are held each term in the evenings and there is an expectation to be able to attend some school activities during the day with advance planning. Full training will be provided.
