School Governor

Apply for this job

About the role

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Governor to join our team at Purwell Primary School. No prior experience is necessary as training and support will be given.

Purwell Primary School is a happy one form entry primary school in Hitchin with a dedicated and motivated team of staff. Governors at the school work closely with the senior leadership team to support and challenge, aiming to maximise opportunities for all our pupils to learn, thrive and get the most out of school life.

Becoming a school governor is a rewarding experience and will allow you to use your skills to have a positive impact on the education of the children in the school. You may take on different challenges as you work as part of a mutually-supportive Governing Board.

We would welcome applications from any background, if you are prepared to take on the commitment of the role. Meetings are held each half term on a Monday evening and there is some expectation to be able to attend the occasional link visit to school during the day. Full training will be provided.

If you would like to discuss the role further, please contact our Headteacher, Richard Cano, via the school office: admin@purwell.herts.sch.uk.
