School Business Manager

About the role

Highbury Infant and Nursery School is located in the centre of Hitchin we are a 2-form entry Infant and Nursery School. We are looking for someone who is a qualified School Business manager or who is willing to undergo the qualification.

The position is 25 hours a week which must include Fridays, we can offer flexibility around the other days and working hours.

The pay is ranging from H5 through to M1 scale dependent upon experience and level of qualifications. You are paid on a pro rata basis monthly. Salary range: £25,119 - £44,428.00 FTE

The role includes a number of different duties, including but not limited to:

• Supporting the CEO / directorate with day to day duties
• Business compliance
• Managing the school finances
• Planning and tracking budgets
• Financial management and procedures
• Oversee the planning and management of new projects
• Contract management and scheduling  
• Effective advertising and promotion of the school and its facilities
• Health and safety management for the school
• Premises management including staff
• Resource management and planning
• Recruitment co-ordination & compliance
• HR support

We are looking for an exceptional and enthusiastic person to work closely with the Headteacher, the senior leadership team and other local Finance Leads, in this key strategic role.

• An astute understanding of the role of the Business Manager within a school setting
• A strong track record of managing a complex budget and staffing arrangements
• An ability to motivate and develop colleagues 
• Experience of managing a range of communication systems
