About the role
Well it was only a matter of time before you found the best teaching post on the site! We are the place to teach! Our staff are innovative and hard working. They are positive and enjoy being part of the teams, which in turn models and supports the whole school vision. Our teachers and TAs are dynamic, experimental and engage wholeheartedly in the development of the curriculum, subject leadership and cross-curricular learning.
Due to our forthcoming expansion, we are evolving and we have a wealth of opportunities at The Collett. Working closely with the local and wider communities, the school continues to build strong links with partners to expand our curriculum and ensure exceptional support for our learners as they transition into adulthood.
Job Context
The Collett is a wonderful Foundation Special School for pupils aged 5 -16, who have a wide range of learning and social needs, fantastic personalities and skills that make this job truly special!
As part of The Blue Tangerine Federation, we are embarking on a new stage of our journey. We are building on the best of what we already have, whilst moving forward to improve our resources and provide the best opportunities for young people with SEND in the West of Hertfordshire.
Our classes are relatively small (about 10 - 12) and the curriculum is designed around the needs of the Class Teachers' groups - innovation, celebration and relevance are the key ingredients for your planning to provide PPA cover across a wide range of ages.
The post would suit ECTs, newly qualified and experienced teachers - the most important aspect of the successful candidate would be enthusiasm for teaching and a desire to improve your own continual professional development in order to actively support improvements to our school. Previous experience of working in an SEND school is not required, as ongoing training will be provided. Primary-trained teachers or those with an EYFS background tend to be particularly well-suited to working on our setting.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. This appointment will be conditional on successful pre-employment and enhanced DBS checks.
If this looks interesting - come, have a look around the school and see if we are right for you too! Please contact our reception on 01442 398988 or email Donna Abel hr@bluetangerine.herts.sch.uk
Thank you for your interest and looking forward to seeing you soon.
Best wishes,
Stephen Hoult-Allen
As a Federation, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. A Disclosure and Barring Service check is an essential for this post, as are references which are taken up and robustly checked. Full training is given, as are regular updates and to insure our children are kept safe.
