About the role

Are you SPECIAL enough to work with us?

Do you want our pupils, of secondary age with primary learning needs, to become excellent learners?

We are currently looking to recruit an Part-Time Administrator (hours to be discussed), term time only. This is paid at H4 £23,893 pro rata for part time.

The Valley School provides an exciting and challenging learning environment for up to 190 pupils who need our support because of their learning difficulties, autism or speech, language and communication needs.  Aged 11-16, these amazing young people need the skills of outstanding practitioners to enable them to make progress, learn to believe in their own futures and to become independent and confident members of the community.

You will be a key person in ensuring that our systems run well and for the benefit of our young people.  You will engage with staff, pupils and parents face to face and on the phone.

You will be kind, compassionate and efficient.  You will also need resilience and a great sense of humour.  We welcome those who have been trained in First Aid, but we can provide training if necessary.

Please call or email iona.varol@thevalley.herts.sch.uk if you would like to arrange a visit to the school.

If you want to work hard, get back more than you give, explore how Expressive Arts can open up life choices and life chances and make a huge difference to some amazing young people, then this is the school for you.  Can you answer “YES” to all of these questions?

Do you believe that pupils are at the core of all decision making?
Are you hard-working and resilient?
Are you creative and solution driven?
Do you have the skills to make and maintain strong relationships?
Do you like a challenge?

Please take some time to look at our website – it tells you a lot about us.

Meet our pupils and decide if this is an environment for you.

The school is an equal opportunities employer and we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure Barring Service. All polices are available on the school website.
