About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Nursery Manager to lead our team and ensure the highest standards of care and education are met. The successful candidate will be integral to maintaining a warm, safe, and stimulating environment that promotes the well-being and development of every child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safeguarding requirements.

  • Lead and manage a team of nursery staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure excellent service delivery.

  • Implement and maintain the nursery's ethos 

  • Work closely with families, external agencies, and professionals to support children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development.

  • Maintain and ensure policies, procedures, and best practices are in line with statutory requirements.

  • Ensure the effective planning and delivery of the EYFS and Happycrew curriculum.

  • Monitor and evaluate the nursery’s performance, maintaining high standards of care and education.

  • Manage the nursery’s budget, resources, and staffing to ensure efficient operation.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment that respects the diverse needs of children, families, and staff.

  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the nursery.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or equivalent (Level 5 or higher preferred).

  • Proven experience in a management role within an early years or nursery setting.

  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.

  • Experience working with children with SEND needs is highly desirable.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

  • A thorough understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety regulations.

  • First Aid and Safeguarding certifications (or willingness to undertake training).

  • Strong ability to engage with parents, carers, and multi-agency teams.
