About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Midday Supervisory Assistant to join our friendly team.

We are looking for a friendly, patient and enthusiastic person with a professional and flexible approach. Good communication skills are essential, plus an ability to develop very good relationships with both children and staff and promote positive relationships between children. The successful candidate will need to be reliable and punctual and will have the opportunity to work within an experienced, friendly and supportive team.

Applications are welcome from candidates who may have been working with children within a different setting. You may have particular skills and a passion for developing certain areas of support. If this is the case this would be explored with you. 

This is a part time, permanent position starting as soon as possible paid at H3 (pro rata.)  Normal hours are 11.55am to 1:10pm Monday to Friday for 43.6 weeks (term time only). The pay is Hay 3.1 (£12.18 per hour at April 2023). 

The role will include:

  • supervising children and ensuring that they have a happy and safe mid-day break
  • setting up and clearing away the dining hall, moving tables supervising of the dining hall
  • supervision of playground, field and indoors
  • promoting active play
  • encouraging healthy eating
  • first aid
  • following the School’s Behaviour Policy
     

We are looking for:

  •  a calm and caring person who will encourage safe play
  • experience with working with children is advantageous
  • enthusiastic and dynamic attitude with a willingness to work as part of a team
  • high expectations of behaviour
  • an ability to communicate with pupils and staff

The salary quoted is the full time equivalent (FTE= 37 hours per week/52 weeks per year) and dependant on qualifications and experience.   Application via the Teach in Herts website ONLY.  CVs will not be accepted.
