About the role

We have a wonderful opportunity for an energetic positive person to join an established happy team at our pioneering Alternative Provision in rural North Hertfordshire. We have an excellent reputation across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Luton specialising in equine, canine and outdoor based therapeutic learning.

Our approach is specifically student led and designed to be pressure free. We work closely with other stakeholders and professionals to provide a safe environment for our young people to engage in a varied array of outdoor based activities and therapeutic animal interventions. We have an excellent track record in helping young people rebuild their self esteem and confidence, learn new skills, reframe unhelpful perceptions and equip themselves to forge a path forward that supports their future dreams.

You will have experience of working with young people and ideally have a Bushcraft or Forest School background or interest. (Other outdoor/practical interests such as Carpentry, Mechanics and DT are also of interest). Our team have diverse backgrounds, as a minimum you will be passionate about supporting young people who face many challenges in their lives, whilst also having a love of outdoor life, being comfortable with working in the outdoors all year round.

The approach we use is very fluid, it is designed as such to support the engagement and development of our students. We are therfore looking for a creative person who relishes the opportunity to work within a supportive team, whislt also enjoying the freedom and autonomy of creating their own content and utilising the scope of our incredidible environment.

We provide ongoing training, development and supervision.

We will require a full DBS check and references to meet our safeguarding obligations.

The hours are flexible and term time only. Our working day is 9.15am - 3.30pm and we pay a very competetive day rate depending on experience.
