Supporting our children to make rapid progress is hugely rewarding and the support staff at Maple Cross are the backbone of our nurturing and inclusive environment.
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive candidate to join our supportive and progressive staff team. And, someone who wants to smile and brighten the days of others.
The role will be working closely with out phonics lead teacher to continuously review progress and adapt 1:1 and small group interventions to best meet the needs of all children. The successful candidate will lead and tutor any child who is falling behind to ensure every child is a strong and successful reader.
You will:
- Work closely with the phonics lead and INCO to organise interventions and catch up sessions to ensure all children are making good progress.
- Regularly access children's phonics knowledge and adapt support as needed.
- Organise and maintain phonics related resources.
- Support the phonics lead to organise and run parent events.
To secure the highest quality provision for our pupils, LSAs should:-
- Have up to date and relevant training and experience or be ready to undertake new and regular training. We do not expect perfection but someone who is ready to learn.
- Be passionate about reading and spoken language.
- Ideally be confident with and have understanding of the Read Write Inc. phonics scheme or be ready to learn!
- A commitment to securing high levels of progress, achievement and self-esteem for all children
- Ability to implement strategies
- Confidence, clarity and decisiveness in making decisions
- Work well in a team
- Be patient, caring and committed
