About this Role
We are looking for a excellent Learning Support Assistant to join our Early Years / KS1 team. You will be expected to support the learning in classrooms, teach small groups and be fully committed to the welfare and progress of our Early Years / KS1 learners.
We are looking for someone for 22.5 hours per week Monday - Friday, with an additional 7.5 hours per week MSA contract, term time only. This is a maternity cover contract.
Main Areas of Responsibility
Work with individuals and/or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of the class teacher and provide feedback to the teacher.
Lead structured intervention programmes to support pupil progress, under the direction of the Special Educational Needs Coordinator.
Support pupils to understand instructions, support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils.
Support the teacher in behaviour management and keeping pupils on task.
Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.
Prepare and clear the learning environment and resources, including photocopying, filing and the display and presentation of pupils’ work and contribute to maintaining a safe environment
Learning Support Assistants in this role may also undertake some or all of the following:
Record basic pupil data
Assist with break-time supervision including facilitating games and activities
Assist with escorting pupils on educational visits
Support pupils in using basic ICT
Invigilate tests
Knowledge, Experience and Training
Experience of working with or caring for children of the relevant age
Good numeracy and literacy skills
Basic knowledge of first-aid
Ability to use modern technology
Ability to work in a team
