We are looking to appoint enthusiastic, energetic and motivated individuals to add to our capacity in our Learning Support Department. Roundwood Park is committed to supporting all students so they can reach their full potential, and the right candidate(s) will play a key part in making this happen.
The successful candidate(s) will be supporting students with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including ADD, VI, ASD and ADHD. You will be given the opportunity to mentor students, acting as keyworkers, for our most vulnerable students, as well as the opportunity to carry out 1:1 intervention and plan and deliver learning activities, once experience has been gained. Previous experience of working with young people is desirable but not essential. There is more information about the team and its work on our website https://roundwoodpark.co.uk/sendrps/
Our OFSTED grading has been confirmed as Outstanding (November 2023) and the inspection team have written that:
‘Staff say that they are very well supported. Staff feel valued. They have high praise for how leaders look after the staff’s well-being and their workload.’
‘A school of exceptional quality.’
At Roundwood Park School, we continue to strive to build a diverse and inclusive workplace ensuring that our student body is represented in the staff and where everyone feels valued. Through our work in the last year with the Great Representation programme and the completion of the Anti-racist School Audit with Herts for Learning, we are actively committed to ensuring equity and inclusion is a continued priority throughout all things we do. It forms a major element of our school improvement plan in order that the work we do makes a sustained difference for all. We therefore strongly encourage applicants from all backgrounds, particularly those from underrepresented groups, and are committed to create an environment where everyone feels seen, heard and feels that they belong - a place where everyone can flourish.
We will need to obtain references in advance of interview for any candidate short-listed, and all job offers are subject to satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance.
