About the role

The school provides outstanding support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). – Ofsted 2024 

Abel Smith School is seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant with excellent communication skills and high expectations to join our outstanding school.   The role will involve working one to one to support child/ren with special educational needs in Early Years.   The vacancy is for 8:30am – 12:30 pm (20 hours), Monday-Friday, term time only.   The pay scale will initially be offered at H1-H2, pro rata; salary dependent on experience and qualifications. 

The ideal candidate will be passionate about inclusion. They will be patient, understanding and flexible; able to work independently and as part of a team.   Experience working with children and an understanding of Autism is highly desirable.
