About the role
The Governors of St Andrew’s Church of England (VC) Primary school are looking to appoint a full-time learning support assistant, who will provide support for children and classes in KS2. The post will also entail providing lunchtime support.
The ideal candidate will be friendly, adaptable, independent, resilient and pro-active and will be committed to making a real difference to children’s lives, particularly those children who may be disadvantaged.
We are a one-form entry primary school, situated near St. Andrew’s Church, in the historic village of Stanstead Abbotts in Hertfordshire. Confirmed as a ‘Good’ school (Ofsted, Nov 2023) and an ‘Excellent’ school (SIAMS, Feb 2023) and underpinned by a strong Church of England ethos, we are ambitious and are ready to work with you on a journey that will take both you and our children to achieve our school vision which is; “love to learn, learn to love and in God’s love each one will shine.”

- ideally will have experience of supporting or working with children;
- have excellent communication skills;
- are self-motivated;
- are committed and passionate about learning;
- have high expectations for behaviour as well as achievement;
- are flexible and enjoy working as part of a team;
You will be:
- Supporting the learning of individual and small groups of children in the classroom;
- following programmes of support provided by external agencies such as Speech and Language, autism support etc;
- liaising with the SENCo, Inco and class teacher;
- keeping records and tracking progress;

Selection Process and Procedure
