Headteacher - Grove Road Primary School

View full details on My New Term

About the role

Grove Road school is a successful and high performing primary school based in Tring in Hertfordshire, close to the centre of the town. It provides two forms of entry for a 3 to 11 year old age range and is highly popular and consistently oversubscribed. Ofsted has consistently graded it as at least ‘Good’ across all of its criteria. The school outcomes are regularly above national levels and those for the local area.

Our current headteacher, Sharon Wilson, has been at Grove Road since September 2012 and has informed us of her intention to retire at the end of the academic year. Therefore, we want to proactively recruit her successor now to enable an effective handover, and transition for the school and for the successful candidate.

We are looking for an experienced leader who will be able to sustain and maintain the excellent practice already in place, but also bring a culture of continuous improvement that takes the school forward.. The successful candidate will prioritise building strong relationships with the existing staff, children and families, taking the time to listen and understand our current context as they lead the school forward in its next steps.

Our new headteacher will benefit from being part of a supportive multi academy trust, made up of local schools in Tring, that seeks to provide a supportive foundation and framework through which the school can thrive.

We strongly recommend you visit the school before applying. We will be running a number of visits so that candidates can see the school, speak to the staff, and ask any questions that they might have. We have designed our timeline so that there is ample opportunity for this. For an informal confidential discussion, please contact Phillip Wheatley at pwheatley@ridgewaylearning.org or 07595024245. To arrange visits to the schools, please contact Mel Hutchinson at mhutchinson@tring.school

Grove Road Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and visitors to share this commitment. Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) as well as other pre-appointment checks outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2024).
