About the role

This is a superb and exciting opportunity for an ambitious, enthusiastic and resilient Head of Religious Studies / Head of Health & Social Care to lead the Religious Studies and Health & Social Care Departments to ensure high quality learning takes place and that outstanding attainment and progress are secured at key stage 4 and 5.

Barclay Academy is a flourishing mixed, non-selective secondary school and sixth form based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, admitting students from the ages of 11 to 18.

We were recently graded Good overall by Ofsted, with Outstanding for Leadership and Management, as well as Personal Development. We are continually developing an academic culture at Barclay Academy where the highest standards are expected of students and staff.  

Ofsted highlighted on the comprehensive ongoing training and support that are provided for staff, who also appreciate the thoughtful and meaningful consideration given to their workload.
