About the role

Redbourn Park is a school for children with a primary need of autism, but also have other complex needs. Most notable, this includes anxiety, and demand avoidance but every child is very different and has had a complex and challenge school experience, requiring a huge amount of support, care and when ready, expert teaching.

We opened in 2021 and opened our second site this year. We have a third site planned which will take our age range from 7-14 to 7-16/18, bringing in exams and qualifications. Our capacity is currently 24 and a third site will take this to around 40.

We have an excellent team, with a widely varied amount fo experience. What really stands out and makes a role at redbourn park work is being a really good person and having a huge amount of empathy and care for those you work with.

This role is a version of a headship that would suit someone looking to take thier first step into school leadership or would prefer to go on that journey with a team around them. The directorate are very presents and will maintain oversight and direction of the schools and they, the clinical lead and you, will form the team thats oversees the running and quality of the schools. Ensuring the quality of education is high is the key focus of this role, but will also be the named head teacher and responsible for maintinaing Ofsted standards and therfore leading on inspections alongside.

In summary, this is a form of headship that would suit someone taking their first step into that level of role or looking to work as part of a group. You will join a senior team running the schools and your focus will be making the curriculum, teaching and learning support the best it possibly can be.
