We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Family Support Worker to join our friendly and supportive team at Fairlands Primary School. In this key role, you will play a pivotal part in building strong relationships with families, fostering positive learning environments, and ensuring children reach their full potential.

24 hours per week, term time plus 5 INSET days and one additional week (40 weeks). The hours of work are flexible, however the role will require you to work on site for at least 4 days per week.

Your responsibilities:

  • build trusting and supportive relationships with families from diverse backgrounds, actively developing your cultural understanding and communication skills.
  • work collaboratively with families to improve their children's engagement in learning, both at school and at home, through time-limited interventions and support work
  • support families in implementing effective behaviour management strategies, promoting a positive and inclusive school environment.
  • work proactively to improve attendance, identifying barriers and developing solutions in partnership with families and external agencies.
  • employ strategies to proactively reach out to families with limited English proficiency, utilising translation services and culturally appropriate communication methods
  • provide efficient and confidential administrative support to the headship team, including managing data and reports.
  • build strong relationships with external support agencies and professionals, ensuring seamless communication and coordinated support for families.
  • contribute to a safe and nurturing school environment by upholding safeguarding policies and procedures.
