About the role
Examinations Invigilator
Ridgeway Academy is part of the Ambition Education Trust (AET). The Ambition Education Trust (AET) consists of ten schools in Hertfordshire; three primary, one nursery and infants’, one juniors and five secondary. Our Trust launched in September 2024 following the amalgamation of two established Multi Academy Trusts (MATs), Alban Academies Trust and Atlas Multi Academy Trust. As a member of the AET, we are able to maximise opportunities for rewarding careers and opportunities for personal and professional development throughout our wider organization.
We are looking to recruit Examinations Invigilators to join our existing team and work with us during our school’s internal and external exam periods. No specific examination experience is necessary (training will be provided) however an understanding of the formality and importance of the examinations should be appreciated e.g. exams are carried out according to the rules and conditions as set out by the applicable examination board.
Tasks include preparing exam rooms, distributing papers and stationery, advising candidates of exam conditions, observing students during the exam ensuring that all regulatory requirements are adhered to and assisting with collecting of scripts and tidying the exam room in readiness for the following session.
Those undertaking Reader responsibilities will read exam instructions and questions aloud, accurately and clearly.
Scribes produce accurate, verbatim transcripts of answers dictated by the pupil.
There are morning and afternoon sessions between the hours of approximately 8.00am and 4.30pm available. Ideally, we ask our invigilators to be committed to work a minimum of 3 full days, or 6 sessions per week
Ridgeway Academy is committed to ensuring inclusion, diversity and equality of opportunity. We welcome applications from all suitable candidates and encourage those from underrepresented groups, and/or with protected characteristics, to apply. Ridgeway Academy is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All post holders are subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, satisfactory references and medical clearance.
