About the role

The team at Bernards Heath come to school each day with the aim of promoting a positive sense of self and the skills for lifelong learning. We are looking for a new addition to our team to work alongside an experienced teacher in one of our Foundation Stage/Reception Classes.

Applicants must have a therapeutic approach to behaviour management and work with an understanding that all behaviour is communication. They must also demonstrate a strength, and be able to talk about, the adult’s role in building relationships, learning through play and teaching early reading.

This role is fixed term until July 2026 with a view to becoming permanent. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.20pm term time only (all holidays to be take during school holidays.) There is also an option for the right candidate to choose to work additional hours in our after school club. 

Someone with prior experience would be at an advantage but all candidates with a passion for helping all young children learn would be considered. This post is in the Early Years Foundation Stage and so a Level 3 qualification and Paediatric first aid training would be essential. If the right candidate applied and was willing to study for this qualification we would support them..
