About the role

Welcome to Weston Way Nursery School, one of just 14 maintained nurseries in Hertfordshire.

If you love early years and love the idea or working in a setting commited to the teaching of early years then we are the place for you.  We are excited to have this new role due to additional children joining our setting in January 2025 however we are willing to commit to welcoming and developing the new staff member into our setting and can therefore offer a start date as early as November 2024.

We are proud of our nursery and everyone who visits never wants to leave.  We work in the most amazing setting that is rooted in our 'Home from Home' ethos and offer a great work/life balance especially being a term time only nursery, with only a small portion of holiday wraparound care days.  We are looking for someone who is passionate about education in the early years and has the desire to make a real difference to the lives of young children through our provision.

The key person will be responsible for ensuring that every unique child has access to a warm, nurturing, safe and enabling environment promoting our school aims: 

Happiness, Opportunities, Magical moments, Engagement

This role will entail playing with children for extended periods of time both indoors and outdoors, undertaking observations, feeding assessments into the planning cycle in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and adapting provision across the curriculum for all children.  

The successful applicant must be NVQ level 3 in Early Years.  Please see the job description and person specification for further details. Hours of work are between 32.5/34.5 hours per week during term-time including inset days.  There are the possibility of additional holiday club days to be discussed.
