We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a child with specific needs in our Early Years setting. We are flexible with start and end times (15 hours per week).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support to the child, catering to their individual needs and learning style
  • Utilise strategies such as the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and social stories to facilitate effective communication and learning
  • Work closely with the child's teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure a consistent and holistic approach to their development
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities that promote the child's progress
  • Maintain detailed records of the child's progress and contribute to regular reviews and assessments

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working with children on the Autistic Spectrum, preferably with some background in speech and language support
  • Familiarity with the use of PECS and social stories
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with the child, their family, and the wider school community
  • A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to supporting children with diverse needs

  • Creativity and problem-solving skills to develop engaging and effective learning strategies
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping abilities
