About the role

Commencing 1st January 2025, All Saints Catholic Academy Trust (ASCAT) and St John’s Catholic Primary School wish to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic teacher, with a track record of outstanding classroom practice to the position of Deputy Headteacher.

The successful candidate will join an established senior leadership team, and will work alongside our Executive Headteacher in leading the school forward to continued success, building on its already outstanding reputation. This post is primarily non-class based, however it is expected that the Deputy Headteacher will provide class cover and some intervention teaching within the role.

This post requires applicants to have an active commitment to the Catholic faith, and Priest’s references will be sought.

What we are looking for:

• A strong practitioner who can lead by example

• A demonstrable experience of improving standards of progress and attainment

• Effective inter-personal skills – someone who relates well to others

• A confident individual, who is able to lead effectively in the absence of the Executive Headteacher

• A commitment to the very best for each and every child, developing their God-given talents

• A commitment to leading and supporting the Catholic ethos of our school in all elements of the role

What we offer:

• An exciting opportunity to join a pro-active and innovative leadership team, working alongside experienced school leaders as part of a successful Multi-Academy Trust

• A strong community based on strong relationships between school, home and parish

• Happy, secure and motivated pupils

• A dedicated and supportive staff, leadership and governance team

• Trust wide CPD and networking opportunities

Additionally, St John’s is part of the Government’s School Rebuilding Programme, and construction of a brand new building is due to commence shortly. A state of the art, modern, sustainable school is due to be completed by the end of 2025, and the successful candidate will play a key part in this exciting transition for the school community.
