Situated on the northern outskirts of Welwyn Garden City, Homerswood Primary and Nursery is a small community school providing an enjoyable environment for children to learn and grow. Our curriculum is designed to be pupil-led and offers leadership opportunities for every child – enabling them to become confident, resilient and articulate individuals. Our dedicated team of staff aims to provide each pupil with the skills they need to succeed in our school and beyond.

Our New Deputy Headteacher

We are looking for passionate and motivated ‘out of class’ Deputy Headteacher to support the fantastic achievements of the school and help drive it further forward.

Are you ready to take the next step in your leadership journey?

You will bring:

  • The ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents and staff, as well as the wider community.
  • A commitment to championing the curriculum.
  • Proficiency in staff coaching and mentoring.
  • Experience and/or aptitude to lead on ICT and ECT.
  • Excellent leadership skills to assist the Headteacher in directing and inspiring staff and pupils towards academic excellence.
  • A positive approach to embracing inclusivity, openness and honesty with all stakeholders.
  • Willingness to cover class teaching roles during periods of sickness and absence.
  • A sound knowledge of educational policies, procedures and regulations.
