About the role
Highwood Primary School is an inclusive school community serving a diverse population of pupils in Watford & Bushey. We are looking for an enthusiastic governor to join our friendly governing body.
We cater for pupils from Nursery up to Year 6 and adapt our teaching to meet our pupils’ full range of abilities. We are determined to give pupils the knowledge, skills, and experiences they need to be successful in life after Highwood. We are ambitious for our pupils and develop their cultural capital so that they have all the opportunities available to reach their full potential.
To support this work, we seek a school governor with an education/finance background to help the governing body with its work in curriculum monitoring, development and policy review.
The governing body are responsible for carrying Highwood forwards, challenging and supporting the school to operate effectively in line with the responsibilities defined by the stakeholders. Members are expected to question and challenge leadership and hold them to account.
This is a position to start in December 2024 with a term of four years.
The governing body meet in the evenings, six times over the academic year. You will be expected to attend the meetings, comment on reports and policies and visit the school to see first hand the impact of our work.
This is a voluntary, unpaid role.
