About the role
We are looking to appoint a full-time, main pay-scale teacher. This position is suitable for ECTs.
The position is to cover for a teacher on maternity. The teacher on maternity leave will return to work in the 2025/26 academic year, however the successful candiate will remain with the class for the duration of the year in order to maintain consitency for pupils. Although this is a fixed-term contract, it may be made permanent at the end of the fixed period based on performance and/or the needs of the school.
We are looking for someone who values relationships, enjoys working with children, and wants to make a difference which provides a positive learning experience for our children.
The successful candidate will need to understand that all behaviour is communication. Taking a non-judgemental, curious and empathic attitude towards behaviour is vital. We encourage all our adults in school to respond in a way that focuses on the feelings and emotions that might drive certain behaviour, rather than the behaviour itself.
Our ideal candidate will be nurturing, ambitious and passionate about inspiring and supporting children to develop and learn in an inclusive environment. They must be able to use their own initiative and demonstrate a calm, patient and kind approach.
You will be joining a supportive and dedicated team with training available. Oaklands was judged to be ‘Good’ by Ofsted in July 2023.
