About the role
The Governors of Ponsbourne St Mary's School are looking to appoint a full-time, permanent class teacher for our KS1 class from April 2025 or sooner if possible.
We can offer you:
- A well-resourced classroom with excellent full-time support staff and motivated children;
- A commitment to your CPD. We invest well in staff development using links to the Diocese of St Albans, HFL Education, NPQ programmes and coaching;
- An opportunity to be part of the Diocesan group of church schools with strong links to our local parish and community;
- An experienced, supportive Governing Board;
- The 'best of both worlds' in our collaboration of two small schools. We enjoy the ‘family feel’ of a small setting where we get to know each child really well, along with the benefits and security that comes from being part of a larger partnership;
- A forward thinking and outward looking collaboration with good links to other settings;
- Opportunities to make a difference as a subject leader;
- A well-resourced school, extensive grounds in a beautiful village with a popular deli take away in the pub car park next door!
We are looking for someone who:
- Is organised, reliable and optimistic.
- Supports our Christian ethos and values;
- Can establish and maintain good relationships with children, colleagues and families;
- Is a strong classroom practitioner with high expectations;
- Understands the unique rewards and challenges of working in a small school;
- Has high standards of professional conduct and personal integrity.
If you are interested in the role, we would love to hear from you and strongly encourage visits to our school. Please contact Mrs Karen Baker or Mrs Leanda Goulding admin@ponsbourne.herts.sch.uk 01707 872395.
At Ponsbourne, we are committed to safeguarding children and young people. All post holders are subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and safeguarding checks in line with safer recruitment.
To help us meet our high standards and aspirations of a fully diverse and inclusive workplace, we strongly encourage suitably qualified applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
