About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Class Teacher to join our thriving primary school.  As a Key Stage 2 teacher, you will have the opportunity to work with enthusiastic and well-behaved children in our nurturing community. We have a holistic approach that values the individual child.  Our older children are fantastic role models to our younger children.  Our OFSTED report (Feb 2024) describes our children “Pupils are proud to attend.  They demonstrate positive attitudes towards their learning.  Pupils actively engage in lessons and present their work to a high quality.  They embody the school’s values, displaying kindness and care towards their peers.”

Our teachers benefit from PPA time taken in phase teams, ensuring a manageable workload and a collaborative approach to planning and assessment.  We run our own 30 hour nursery and prioritise the admission of nursery places for children of staff.  We have a great mix of highly experienced teachers and those in their early stages of teaching.  We offer a supportive environment with a focus on meaningful professional development supporting all staff to develop and grow in their careers.  It is important to us that we find the right new member of staff to join our team.  Consequently, we can offer an April or September start.  From September we have some flexibility over KS2 year groups.

Our grounds are extensive and a fantastic resource to enhance learning.   Our youngest children access Forest School.  We have a bespoke STEM classroom, a beautiful library and a music room.   The school community is very caring and our mission statement of ‘nurturing and developing our children for the future’ underpins all our work.

The Governors and staff of Eastbury Farm are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  Where possible references will be taken up before interview.  All short-listed candidates will have a social media check.  All short-listed candidates will be asked to disclose criminal convictions that are subject to DBS check if they have not already done so on the application.

We would strongly encourage any prospective candidates to visit our school.  We would love to meet you and show you around.  Please contact Miss Ormonde, Headteacher, on 01923 824543 for further details, an informal discussion and where possible to arrange a visit.   The person specification forms a key part in our short-listing process so please ensure you have considered this when making your application.
