About the role

The Governors and Headteacher at Bonneygrove Primary School are seeking to appoint  a KS1 Class Teacher for September 2024. 

The successful applicant must have

  • excellent interpersonal skills, ideas to build on current good practice;
  • experience in developing and maintaining outstanding teaching and learning 
  • a deep understanding of current issues affecting children in the Primary Phase.

We are seeking to appoint a person to actively promote the vision and aims of Bonneygrove Primary School.  The successful applicant will be an outstanding teacher who has the ability to enthuse others and foster the love of teaching and learning .  As a team player they will work closely with our amazing community of students, parents/carers, staff, Senior Leaders.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

As a  class teacher - you will form part of our teaching eam. 

MAIN DUTIES 

Teachers are required to work within the statutory conditions of employment as outlined in the current School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document. The duties listed below are not exhaustive and represent additional responsibilities for teachers receiving a teaching and learning responsibility payment. These responsibilities play a crucial role in the continuous improvement of our school.

As a  Class Teacher, take responsibility for teaching and learning quality and standards. Provide analysis and reports to Senior Leadership Team, county advisors, and governors as needed.

 

  • To stay updated with the latest teaching and learning practices, as well as school improvement strategies in Reception or Year One, and disseminate them among staff.
  • To help formulate the aims and objectives of the Early Years Foundation Stage and policies / National Curriculum (KS1/KS2)for their implementation, playing a crucial role in shaping the school's educational direction and ensuring alignment with national standards and best practices.
  • To play a significant role in developing high-quality teaching and learning across the school. This will involve monitoring curriculum planning, giving feedback and advice, and helping and supporting colleagues with planning and delivering a varied curriculum. Additionally, I will be actively contributing to staff development initiatives, such as training sessions and peer mentoring, to promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • To support the teaching team in the delivery of a creative and stimulating curriculum. 
  • To promote effective dialogue among school staff regarding teaching and learning.
  • To meet Reception requirements, including assessment and moderation, and provide appropriate support to individuals and groups based on assessment data.
  • To monitor and evaluate the impact of the policies, practices, targets and priorities in your year group, identifying developments needed and working with the Year Group Leader and the Leadership Team to achieve them.
  • To ensure curricular policy development is focussed on continuous improvement. 
  • To work in partnership with the year group team in the cycle of planning, implementation, review and evaluation of the School Plan. 
  • To work in partnership and fully support the SLT in the implementation of school policies and practices and in the development of the school. 
  • To be an excellent role model of outstanding practice to all staff. 
  • To teach pupils across Reception and to have class teacher responsibility for one class. 
  • To work alongside the Senior DSP to ensure that the safeguarding policy is followed. 

The postholder will work with and be accountable to the Senior Leadership Team.
