About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and committed Caretaker for our school. The post is available for start in February, or as soon as possible thereafter.
This is a part-time post of 32.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, paid on the Herts NJC Scale at H3 + Fringe Allowance pro-rata (£22,383 to £22,727 actual). You would need to be on site before and after school hours (currently 7am – 9.30am then 2pm – 6pm).
Main responsibilities would include (training will be provided for the right candidate):
- To undertake responsibility for the security of the school site and maintenance of the buildings and premises equipment, including some cleaning of communal areas (contract cleaners cover classrooms and toilets)
- Deal with day-to-day maintenance related issues, such as minor repairs
- Completing statutory Health and Safety checks across the site and attending relevant training as appropriate.
- Oversee the work of on-site contractors and complete minor projects as needed (there is the possibility of additional hours as required).
