Abel Smith School is seeking to appoint a British Sign Language Communication Support Worker with excellent communication skills and high expectations to join our outstanding school. The role will involve working one to one to facilitate communication using British Sign Language for a child and their class in Early Years. The vacancy is for 30 hours, Monday-Friday, term time only. The pay scale will initially be offered at H4, pro rata; salary dependent on experience and qualifications.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about inclusion, hold a Level 3 BSL qualification (or Level 2 working towards Level 3). They will be patient, understanding and flexible; able to work independently and as part of a team. Experience working with children and an understanding of special educational needs is highly desirable.
