We are looking for an enthusiastic 1:1 Teacher Assistant who has a passion for working with children with SEND.  Ideally, a candidate with experience of children with ASD and/or ADHD is preferred. However, if you are patient, keen to learn and able to work as part of a team, then your application would be warmly welcomed. A caring and nurturing approach to understanding the needs of children is essential.

You will:

  • Be able to work and support our children with SEND
  • Be able to work 1:1 with specific children, carrying out specific tasks and prepare the learning environment and resources
  • Liaise with the class teacher and SENCo and supporting individuals and groups
  • Show a genuine interest in our children’s wellbeing and build a positive and respectful rapport with all children.
  • Have experience of working with children with SEND

The successful candidate will be calm, confident and be able demonstrate the ability to accelerate the learning of individual children with SEND and/or small groups of children, under the direction of the class teacher and/or SENCo. They will be expected to support the class teacher with a variety of tasks to meet the ongoing needs of pupils. You would also be expected to carry out break and lunch duties, working as part of a team.
